Jensen Buchanan, a talented individual, was born on July 18, 1962, in Montgomery, Alabama, but spent her formative years in Neenah, Wisconsin. Her childhood was marked by a deep affection for music, which would eventually become a defining aspect of her life.
Following her high school graduation, Jensen pursued a higher education at Boston University, where she majored in voice with a concentration in opera. Her academic journey was complemented by her involvement in various musical productions at the Boston University Theater Institute. After completing her studies, she relocated to New York to hone her craft with the esteemed Light Opera of Manhattan.
Jensen's breakthrough in the entertainment industry came in 1987 when she landed her first daytime role as Sarah Gordon on the popular soap opera One Life to Live. This was followed by a notable performance as twin sisters Vicky Hudson and Marley Love on the NBC soap opera Another World in 1991. Her remarkable portrayal of these characters spanned an impressive nine-year period, concluding with the show's cancellation in 1999.
During her tenure on Another World, Jensen tied the knot with Gray O'Brien and the couple welcomed two sons, Conor (born April 1994) and Angus (born February 1996). Her exceptional acting skills earned her two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1996 and 1997.
After leaving Another World, Jensen continued to make her mark in the world of daytime television, appearing on As the World Turns and General Hospital before eventually retiring from acting to focus on her family. In 2003, she married Sam Gores, and the couple remained together until their divorce in 2013.
In 2015, Jensen made a triumphant return to daytime television with a recurring role as Elise Moxley in The Young and the Restless, rekindling her passion for acting and captivating audiences once again.
