Biography

Jennifer Roth, a driven and ambitious individual, had a singular goal: to bring about peace in the Middle East. This endeavour, however, proved to be a daunting task, and fortunately, she had a backup plan. As a resident of New York and a film enthusiast, she leveraged her connections and perseverance to transition from peacemaker to production assistant.

Roth's industry experience began as a production coordinator, with notable credits including the original Bad Lieutenant, Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man, and The Crow. Through her dedication and hard work, she steadily climbed the ranks to become a producer.

Despite the advice of others, Roth and her husband made the bold decision to relocate from New York to Seattle in 2000, while Roth was pregnant. This move could have been detrimental to her career, but instead, she discovered a thriving community of artists and filmmakers, including Lynn Shelton, and has been proud to call Seattle her home ever since.

In 2013, Roth took another calculated risk by accepting a three-year teaching position at NYU Abu Dhabi. Although this decision was not as professionally fulfilling, it was a transformative experience that Roth refers to as the best mid-life crisis ever.

Throughout her career, Roth has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Government, in recognition of her significant contribution to French cinema. Although she may have found her calling in film, Roth remains open to the idea of achieving world peace.
