Biography

Jeff Gendelman is a multifaceted individual with a strong presence in the entertainment industry. He has made a name for himself in short films, such as "Have You Heard the News?", "The People of the World vs. Simon Peterson", and "Scarecrow", where he has showcased his versatility as a lead actor.

Gendelman has also co-starred in feature films, including "Splitsville" alongside Christopher Lambert, "Diamond Men" with Robert Forster and Donnie Wahlberg, and "Snitch" featuring Marlee Matlin. His television credits include guest appearances on popular shows like "Law & Order" on NBC and "Beverly Hills 90210".

In addition to his on-screen work, Gendelman has had a successful career in television, with recurring roles on ABC's "One Life To Live" " andLoving", where he was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a daytime TV series, as well as CBS's "Guiding Light". He has also studied film at renowned institutions such as the American Film Institute, New York University, University of Southern California, and the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Gendelman's passion for the theater began at a young age, and he has continued to hone his craft through extensive training. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and went on to train at the American Conservatory Theater Advanced Actor Program in San Francisco. He has acted and directed at various theaters across the United States and Japan, including the Old Globe Shakespeare, Cleveland Playhouse, Milwaukee Repertory, Mark Taper Forum, and Riverside Shakespeare Company in New York City.

Gendelman has also ventured into filmmaking, writing and producing the feature film "The Surface", directed by Gil Cates, Jr., starring Sean Astin, Chris Mulkey, and Mimi Rogers. He has also executive produced the short film "The Big Everything", starring Bradley Whitford and James Wolk.

Currently, Gendelman is working on three screenplays: "Headwind", a coming-of-age/martial arts story inspired by a true event; "Mountain Pass", a survival thriller inspired by a true event; and "Even Keel", a dramedy crime story.

Gendelman has also made a name for himself as a director, with his festival award-winning short film "In Passing" receiving an audience favorite award. He has produced the Los Angeles world premiere of the play "The Letter Writer" and has produced and directed two science documentaries. Additionally, he has worked on a pilot for the syndicated TV series "Straight From The Edge".

Outside of his entertainment career, Gendelman is a graduate of Outward Bound Survival School, Jackson Hole Ice Mountaineering School, and the FBI Citizen's Academy. He has also been involved with martial arts for over 50 years and has achieved advanced ranks in four different styles, earning a certified 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.
