Biography

Jeff Garlin is a multifaceted comedian who has made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry. Born and raised in Chicago, he honed his craft at Second City, where he was influenced by the likes of Richard Pryor, Woody Allen, and Shelley Berman.

Garlin's career took off when he co-starred and executive produced the critically acclaimed HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which premiered in 2000. The show, created by Larry David, stars Garlin as his loyal manager and has garnered numerous awards and nominations, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy, The Danny Thomas Producer of the Year Award from the Producers Guild of America, and the AFI comedy series of the year award.

Prior to his success with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Garlin was a series regular on Mad About You, playing the role of Marvin for three seasons. He also had his own self-titled half-hour special on HBO and has written and starred in three critically acclaimed solo shows: "I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With," "Uncomplicated," and "Concentrated."

As a stand-up comedian, Garlin has toured the country and has been an alumnus of Chicago's Second City Theatre. He has also directed several projects, including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jon Stewart's "Unleavened," and Denis Leary's "Lock-n-Load" HBO specials.

In addition to his work in television and film, Garlin has appeared on the big screen opposite Eddie Murphy in the Columbia/Tristar comedy Daddy Day Care. In the film, he plays a newly unemployed father who starts a full-time day care business with his friend, despite neither of them being able to change a diaper.

When he's not working, Garlin enjoys spending time with his family in Los Angeles and indulging in his favorite hobbies, including eating pudding and taking naps.
