Born to a father in the transportation industry and a mother who worked in secretarial roles, Jeff grew up in the middle class of Toronto, Canada. Throughout his high school years, Jeff developed a profound passion for video production, often persuading teachers to allow him to create a short film instead of writing an essay. Despite not being the most academically inclined, Jeff's charisma and determination earned him the respect of his teachers, although his grades may not have entirely met his parents' expectations.
In a surprising turn of events, Jeff's flair for film did not lead him to pursue a career in the industry. Instead, he left high school early and began training to become a classical chef. His culinary ambitions were short-lived, however, as he was soon cast by Food Network Canada as the featured chef for a new television series titled "Look Who's Cooking Now". Unfortunately, the show never made it to air.
Undeterred, Jeff decided to take matters into his own hands and created, produced, wrote, and starred in a web-based lifestyle show called "Toronto Bites". This entrepreneurial spirit would serve him well in his future endeavors.
After "Toronto Bites", Jeff embarked on a trip to Ireland, where he shot a video journal that would eventually evolve into the acclaimed feature-length documentary "Roots of a Man". Made on a shoestring budget of just $2500, "Roots of a Man" garnered Jeff his first taste of recognition, earning him official selections into international film festivals, including the Oscars, and invitations to host workshops on no-budget filmmaking. Jeff and his brother independently distributed over 900 DVD copies of the film to countries around the world.
In late 2005, Jeff began writing and pre-production work on a feature-length western titled "Six Reasons Why". The film would become a labor of love, costing Jeff two years of his life and his life's savings. Once complete, "Six Reasons Why" was purchased by THINKFilm in the fall of 2007 for North American distribution.
In addition to his feature films, Jeff has also written, directed, edited, and produced numerous short films, commercials, and music videos to date.
