Jeanette Nolan, a renowned actress, embarked on her illustrious acting career in the Pasadena Community Playhouse. During her time as a student at Los Angeles City College, she made her radio debut in 1932 at the tender age of 20 in the groundbreaking transcontinental broadcast "Omar Khayyam" from station KHJ.
Her film debut was a standout performance as Lady Macbeth, opposite the versatile director/actor Orson Welles's Macbeth, in 1948. This iconic role would likely remain her most memorable. Her final film credit was as Ellen Booker, the mother of Tom Booker, played by Robert Redford, in the critically acclaimed film The Horse Whisperer, released in 1998.
Throughout her remarkable career, Nolan appeared in an impressive array of television shows, including notable episode roles in Perry Mason (1957),I Spy (1965),MacGyver (1985),Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955),and as a regular cast member on The Richard Boone Show (1963) and The Virginian (1962). Her dedication to her craft earned her a total of four Emmy nominations.
Tragically, Nolan's life was cut short when she passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1998 at the age of 86, following a stroke.
