JD's Life Story: A Journey of Cultural Fusion and Multifaceted Pursuits
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, JD's formative years were spent in Mexico City, where he developed a deep appreciation for his Mexican heritage. Upon returning to Des Moines, he completed his high school education before venturing to Drake University.
JD's proficiency in Spanish, a testament to his Mexican ancestry, has enabled him to take on various Hispanic roles in both film and television. Notable performances include his portrayal of a Harvard-educated cartel boss in Michael Pavone's "The Reunion" and Carlos in Billy Bob Thornton's "All the Pretty Horses."
Before transitioning to acting, JD began his career as a dancer, honing his skills in Jazz, Limon, Graham, and Ballet. He even danced for the prestigious PABT in Los Angeles. JD's early exposure to musicals eventually led him to pursue acting full-time.
Under the guidance of renowned acting coach Alan Langdon at the Actors Space in New York City, JD refined his craft before relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The city has since become his home base, with frequent trips between LA and Santa Fe dictated by his work schedule.
Throughout his career, JD has been fortunate enough to collaborate with numerous talented individuals. He is also proud to co-own a distribution business with his oldest son, Justin-David, which is expanding its reach into the Midwest.
JD's close-knit family includes a younger sister and brother, as well as a large extended family. He is particularly close to his cousins, with whom he maintains strong bonds.
