Javon Anderson's journey began in Detroit, where he was raised and developed a passion for football and academics during his time at Chadsey High School and Wayne State University. However, it was his role as an extra in the film Conviction that sparked his interest in acting, and he credits his aunt Sherita Walker of Detroit for finding him this opportunity that would change his life.
With newfound determination, Javon began auditioning for various film, commercial, and television projects. In 2014, he even had the chance to audition for a starring role in the film Goosebumps alongside Jack Black, but unfortunately, he did not land the part due to his weight. This rejection served as a catalyst for Javon to embark on a remarkable journey of self-transformation, as he miraculously lost 135 pounds in just 7 months, transforming himself from an overweight former nose tackle into a fit and muscular leading man.
Javon's commitment to weight loss and fitness not only improved his overall health but also led to interviews on Good Morning America and Yahoo Health's Weight Loss Win series. His newfound physique and determination also opened doors to more acting opportunities, including national commercials and feature films like The End of the Tour, Royals Family Christmas, and Heartlock.
The culmination of Javon's hard work and dedication occurred in February 2019, when he auditioned for the new Steven Soderbergh release No Sudden Moves. In one audition, he landed the role of a lifetime, playing Lonnie, a character who, like Javon, is a classic Detroit story about overcoming adversity.
