Jason Wiles, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, spent his formative years in Lenexa, Kansas. Following high school, he found himself undecided about his future and opted not to pursue college football, instead opting to work for the local Parks and Recreation Department. Little did he know that this decision would ultimately set him on the path to a career in filmmaking.
It was during this time that the movie Mr. & Mrs. Bridge (1990) came to Kansas City, and Wiles seized the opportunity to work on the set, thus igniting his passion for filmmaking. His experience on this project was soon followed by his involvement in the production of Sometimes They Come Back (1991),based on a Stephen King novel. In addition to working on the crew, Wiles also appeared in scenes as an extra, further solidifying his connection to the industry.
The connections he made during this period ultimately led Wiles to venture to Los Angeles, where he landed roles in commercials and eventually secured the lead in an after-school special. His big break came a couple of years later when he was cast as Colin Robbins on the popular television series Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990).
Wiles' subsequent role as Bosco on Third Watch (1999) further cemented his reputation as a talented actor. In addition to his work on television, he has also explored his creative side through directing and writing. In the summer of 2002, he appeared in the Cape Playhouse production of "Mass Appeal" alongside Malachy McCourt, and in 2003, he was part of Imua! Theatre Company's production of "Safe", which he co-wrote and directed alongside fellow Third Watcher Anthony Ruivivar.
Upon the completion of the final season of "Third Watch" in 2005, Wiles began work on his independent film Lenexa, 1 Mile (2006),which he wrote and directed. The film wrapped production in June 2005. In November 2006, Wiles traveled to Ely, Nevada, to direct his second feature film, Play Dead (2009).
