March 17th, 2021, marked the birthday of Jason, a multifaceted individual born and raised in Vernon, BC. His early life was deeply rooted in the skateboarding community, where he had the opportunity to bring his creative vision, "Renee Renee," to life.
Starting as a master of ceremonies (MC) for local skateboarding events in Western BC, Jason's talents soon caught the attention of commercial brands such as DC and Native shoes, leading to collaborations and further opportunities.
Beyond his work in skateboarding, Jason also ventured into the world of film, featuring in numerous skateboarding and snowboarding videos, as well as movies.
As an MC in the USA, Jason, aka Renee Renee, wrote and produced an album, making it available for download on Apple Music, Spotify, and Last FM.
Jason's passion for filmmaking began in 2015, and he has since built a strong network in the entertainment industry. He produced a short film called "Skate Trades," which was primarily funded by the BC Maritime employer association.
In addition to his work behind the camera, Jason was instrumental in creating an autism skate day in 2015, which later evolved into the SUPA (Surfs Up for Autism) society. He remains a dedicated Board member, supporting skate days and surfing or snowboarding events for children on the autism spectrum.
Beyond his expertise in the skateboarding and entertainment industries, Jason is a skilled artist, with his pieces selling globally. He has had the privilege of painting for a Thai Prince of Bangkok and creating a mural for a record shop in Seattle, co-owned by Mike D of Beastie Boys fame.
Currently, Jason is working on his new skateboard brand, Bentwood skateboards, while continuing to explore his creativity in the arts and entertainment industry.
