Biography

Jane made the unconventional decision to forgo a full scholarship to study violin at the prestigious Juilliard School, instead choosing to dedicate four years to honing her acting skills at the renowned Pasadena Playhouse.

Her early foray into the world of acting began in radio, where she gained valuable experience working on Lux Radio Theatre and The Whistler, a popular dramatic anthology series.

Tragedy struck when Jane's first brief marriage to a naval aviator came to an abrupt end, as her husband was tragically killed in action during World War II.

Following her husband's untimely passing, Jane married Tom Turnage and subsequently retired from her acting career, opting to dedicate herself to her domestic life.

However, the demands of her husband's military service soon required Jane to return to the spotlight, as she reprised her acting roles on television in the early 1950s, while her husband was stationed in Korea.
