Biography

Jan Hooks is a talented actress who has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, particularly during her five-year stint on Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1991. During her time on the show, she showcased her impressive range by impersonating a diverse array of actresses, including the legendary Bette Davis, the iconic Ann-Margret, the talented Sally Kellerman, and the accomplished Jodie Foster.

After leaving Saturday Night Live, Hooks was approached by the acclaimed writer and producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason to replace the talented Jean Smart on the popular CBS series Designing Women. Hooks accepted the offer and went on to play the memorable role of Carlene Dobber for the show's final two seasons.

In addition to her impressive work on television, Hooks has also made a mark in the world of feature films. One of her most notable roles is that of Tina, the charming and spirited Alamo girl, in the beloved comedy Pee-wee's Big Adventure, released in 1985. More recently, she brought her signature wit and charm to the role of Dixie Glick in the 2004 film Jiminy Glick in Lalawood.
