Jamie Spaniolo, better known by his stage name Jamie Madrox, began his rap career as a teenager while still in high school. Alongside his friend Paul Methric, they would participate in freestyle battles with other kids, although they felt they struggled to come up with rhymes quickly. They would often attend school with the late rapper Proof, who was known for his exceptional freestyling skills.
Spaniolo and Methric also regularly attended freestyle battles at the Hip Hop Shop, a weekly event that helped them hone their skills. This exposure to the Detroit hip-hop scene would later influence their music.
In 1993, Spaniolo founded the rap group House of Krazees, initially performing under the pseudonym Big-J, later changing it to Mr. Bones. The group released five albums between 1993 and 1996, with Spaniolo being an original member.
In 1994, Spaniolo released his debut solo EP, "The Demon Inside," under the name Mr. Bones. He followed this up with the LP "Sacrifice" in 1995.
However, House of Krazees disbanded due to issues with their label, Latnem Entertainment, leading to the departure of fellow member The R.O.C.
In 1998, Spaniolo and Methric received an offer from Insane Clown Posse to join Psychopathic Records, and they rebranded as Twiztid. They revamped their image and set out to prove themselves to the Juggalo fanbase, opening shows for Insane Clown Posse and appearing at in-store tours.
Their debut album, "Mostasteless," was released in 1998, and although it initially received a lukewarm response, the duo's fanbase slowly began to grow. They continued to tour and release music, eventually signing with Island Records in 1999.
During their brief stint with Island Records, "Mostasteless" was re-released, and the duo's fanbase expanded significantly. They returned to Psychopathic Records in 2000 and released "Freek Show," which debuted at number 51 on the Billboard charts.
Twiztid has remained with Psychopathic Records ever since, signing artists such as Blaze Ya Dead Homie and The R.O.C. to the label. However, in 2012, the duo announced their departure from Psychopathic Records on December 12th.
