Biography

James Quinn McDonagh was born in Ireland in 1967, commencing his life's journey in a unique and unconventional manner. He spent his early years dwelling in a horse-drawn barrel-top wagon, a traditional mode of living for Irish Travellers. This lifestyle, however, was not without its challenges, and James faced bullying both within and outside his community.

To combat these difficulties, James turned to the sport of boxing, which proved to be an effective means of self-defense and empowerment. Despite his promising career in the ring, James's life as a Traveller took precedence, and at the age of sixteen, he left Dublin for England with his family, interrupting his boxing career before it had fully taken off.

The family's stay in London was, however, cut short due to a confrontation that ultimately resulted in the death of a man. Fearing for their safety, the family was forced to flee London and return to Ireland, only to find that the feud that had been sparked in England had followed them.

The devastating consequences of this feud were far-reaching, leaving James himself shot, men dead, houses burned out, and lives destroyed. In an effort to escape the violence that had plagued his life for so long, James made the difficult decision to leave Ireland and start anew abroad.

Today, James is married with two sons and a grandchild, and has retired from the world of fighting entirely. Despite the challenges he has faced, James has emerged from his experiences with a newfound sense of purpose and a determination to build a peaceful and prosperous life for himself and his loved ones.
