James Lyones, a native of Chicago, Illinois, has always been fascinated by the impact of television and film on his life. He recalls how a great show could make him feel good, and he has always wanted to pass that feeling onto others. As a young man, he would often ask his friends in the industry for advice on how to get started in the business. Fortunately, they were able to guide him on the right path, and he began to seek out roles for himself.
An active fire chief, Lyones took a leap of faith and pursued acting after landing his first role on the hit TV series Rescue Me, playing the part of a firefighter. This opportunity led him to pursue acting as a full-time career, and he went on to land roles on other prominent TV series such as 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
In addition to his acting career, Lyones is also a proud Air Force veteran who currently resides in Newark, New Jersey. He is also a devoted father and has traveled extensively throughout his life. He has a special fondness for tropical destinations, including Mexico, Aruba, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and St. Lucia.
As a personable and adventurous individual, Lyones is always looking for new experiences. He once convinced a pilot to let him take the controls during a flight across the Dominican Republic, with the pilot guiding him from the co-pilot's seat. He believes in living in the moment and constantly seeks ways to enhance his acting, production, and directing abilities.
Lyones is also the creator of the upcoming film ARSON, a gripping story about a decorated career firefighter who becomes enticed by greed and revenge. He recruits a band of rogue firefighters to join him on a path of destruction and deadly consequences.
