Biography

James, a talented director and screenwriter from Hereford, England, has made a significant impact in the film industry. He earned his degree in Directing Fiction from the prestigious National Film & Television School in the UK. James is well-known for his work on several critically acclaimed short films, including Barry Glitter, The Car Washer, and Ferris & The Fancy Pigeon. His short film Ferris & The Fancy Pigeon was particularly noteworthy, as it was shortlisted for Odeon's 'Best Short of the Year' and won the Royal Television Society award for 'Best Student Drama' in 2017.

James's debut feature film, JELLYFISH, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2018 and received its international premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival shortly after. JELLYFISH won the 'Michael Powell Award' for 'Best Performance in a British Feature Film' at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and went on to win numerous awards at the Dinard Film Festival, including the Grand Jury, Critic, Screenplay, and inaugural Performance 'Hitchcock' awards. The film has been screened at various film festivals worldwide and has received widespread critical acclaim, including a five-star review in the Financial Times and a glowing review from Mark Kermode, who praised Liv Hill's performance as "fabulous".

In addition to his work in film, James is also a former semi-professional skateboarder. He currently resides in London and is involved in the development of several TV and feature film projects, including WOKE UP DEAD, which stars Jack Rowan and Maxine Peake, and GRANS GONE WILD, which features Asa Butterfield and Penelope Wilton.
