Biography

James, a native of Colombia, spent his formative years in Bogota, where he earned a degree in advertising. Following his academic pursuits, he relocated to New York with the goal of improving his English proficiency. His academic endeavors continued as he went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the prestigious Columbia University.

James's literary career took off with the publication of his debut novel, "Tales from the Town of Widows & Chronicles from the Land of Men", which has been translated and released in over twenty countries. The novel received widespread critical acclaim, including being named one of the "Ten Best Books of the year" by the American School Library Journal, and has won numerous awards, including the 2008 Prix du Premier Roman Étranger and the 2008 Prix des lecteurs de Vincennes.

In addition to his novel, James's short stories and essays have been featured in various literary journals across the United States, Mexico, France, Belgium, and Latvia.
