Jaimz Woolvett's journey in the entertainment industry began with a strong foundation in acting and drama, which he studied at university. This academic background led to an invitation to join the prestigious National Theatre School. His early success came when he was cast as the lead in the sitcom Dog House, earning him a Young Artists Award nomination.
However, it was his role as 'The Schofield Kid' in the Academy Award-winning film Unforgiven, opposite Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman, that truly launched his career. After the film wrapped, Jaimz made the bold decision to relocate to Hollywood, a move that proved to be a little premature. Despite having a film like Unforgiven under his belt, he found himself struggling to find work.
When an opportunity arose for him to star in the lead role of a TV show, Jaimz took it and headed to New Zealand to film White Fang. Unfortunately, this meant he was out of the country when the calls started rolling in for Unforgiven, which went on to receive critical acclaim and win the Academy Award for Best Film and Director.
Upon his return, Jaimz appeared in a string of films, including Dead Presidents, Rosewood, The Guilty, Boogie Boy, Helter Skelter, and Hard Time, the latter earning him a Gemini nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
Today, Jaimz continues to be involved in the entertainment industry, not only as an actor but also as a supporter of emerging talent. He hosts 'Open Mike Write' evenings, where writers, singers, actors, and poets can share their work, and he also directs and volunteers at various schools in the LA area, working with students of all ages.
