Jah, a Belizean native, was born on June 6th, 1986, in the vibrant country of Belize, situated in Central America. As the middle child of Phillipa, a dedicated healthcare provider, and Faron, a driven entrepreneur, Jah's early life was marked by a sense of resilience and determination. Growing up in the impoverished "Back ah Village" part of Belize City, Jah's childhood was filled with the sounds of poverty, yet his innate talent and passion for the performing arts shone through. He attended Grace Primary School, where he excelled academically, becoming the most brilliant student in the entire school, effortlessly mastering various subjects.
Following his parents' migration to the United States in order to provide a better life for their children, Jah was raised by his grandparents, who instilled in him the importance of family and community. This formative period had a profound impact on Jah's life, shaping his values and worldview.
As Jah entered his teenage years, he discovered a newfound passion for theater and acting. His interest in the performing arts led him to migrate to the United States in 1998, where he was introduced to the world of film and filmmaking. This marked the beginning of his journey as a filmmaker, with Jah directing his first film, "Ditch Day," in 2009.
Fast-forward to 2014, Jah made his film debut with the lead role of "Juice" in his second directorial effort, "States (Money is the Root of All Evil)." Not only did he excel as an actor, but he also wore multiple hats, serving as the writer, producer, and editor of the film. His storytelling abilities are truly remarkable, and "States" has become an instant classic.
