Born on June 8, 1991, Jagjeet Sandhu embarked on his theatre journey at the tender age of 7. He pursued his passion for theatre throughout his school days, eventually completing his master's degree in theatre from Panjab University, Chandigarh. This led him to join Padma Shree Neelam Mann Singh's renowned theatre group, 'The Company Theatre'.
After dedicating 15 years to theatre, Jagjeet made his foray into the film industry with his debut movie, Rupinder Gandhi (2015),which turned out to be a massive hit. His first role as "Bhola" resonated with audiences, marking the beginning of his film career. Since then, he has appeared in 16 Pollywood movies, with his most recent release being "Sufna" in 2020.
Jagjeet's role as 'Speed' in Qissa Panjab (2015) received critical acclaim and international recognition, earning him a nomination at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival. His performance in "The Anatomy of Violence" (2016),directed by Academy Award Nominee Deepa Mehta, also garnered widespread recognition.
The talented actor's role in "Mehsampur" (2018) was featured in prominent film festivals in Sydney, Goa, and Mami. In 2019, Jagjeet made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix original film, Leila.
Born into a humble rural setting in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, Jagjeet's early life was marked by a rustic upbringing. However, his innate talent for theatre was discovered by his school authorities at the age of 7, leading to his enrollment in a local theatre group. This marked the beginning of his passion for theatre, which continued to flourish throughout his school days.
Jagjeet's college years saw him win numerous awards for his outstanding performances in various youth festivals. His versatility as an actor has been his greatest strength, allowing him to effortlessly take on diverse roles.
In his own words, Jagjeet describes his journey as an "adventure in the exploration of the human mind and its bodily representations." He finds solace in the cerebral study of characters, as much as he enjoys the visceral aspects of acting. For him, the pursuit of understanding the required character condition is where he finds the most fulfillment.
