Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is a Canadian actress, disc jockey, singer, and television host born on April 17, 1987, in Windsor, Ontario. She is of indigenous, Scottish, French, and Brazilian ancestry. Wood's early start in acting was playing the "hair girl" in a commercial for First Choice Haircutters. At 18, she moved to Toronto to pursue a career in acting, taking classes at Ryerson University, Centre for the Arts, and the Armstrong Acting Studio.
Wood gained recognition for her role as Steffy Forrester on the American CBS Daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, a character described as a "bitch-nasty" vixen who is strong-willed. She has received four Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2019. In 2011, she began playing the role of Steffy, and since then, the character has been a central figure in the show.
In addition to her work on The Bold and the Beautiful, Wood has appeared in other projects. In 2011, she starred in the horror film Final Destination 5, playing the role of Olivia Castle. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $157 million at the American Box Office. She also had a guest role on the CW action-adventure series Arrow, playing Sara Lance, and appeared in the Lifetime television film Her Husband's Betrayal and the comedy series Anger Management.
Wood's great uncle was Scottish highland singer Alasdair Gillies, and her half-sister is Dani Probert, the wife of the late NHL player Bob Probert.
