Biography

Jacqueline Bisset has been a prominent figure in the international film industry since the late 1960s. Born to a French mother and English father, she grew up in England and had to study French as a child. She began her career as a model to support her ailing mother, who was diagnosed with disseminating sclerosis, and her parents eventually divorced. Bisset's early interest in film led her to take acting lessons, which were paid for by her modeling career.

Bisset's breakthrough role came in 1967 with the film "Two for the Road," and she went on to appear in several successful films throughout the 1970s, including "Casino Royale," "The Detective," "Bullitt," and "Airport." She earned a Golden Globe nomination for "The Sweet Ride" and gained recognition in Europe for her role in François Truffaut's "Day for Night."

In the 1980s, Bisset's career experienced a resurgence with roles in films like "The Deep," "The Greek Tycoon," and "Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?" She received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the latter film and continued to appear in a wide range of films throughout the decade.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Bisset continued to work in film and television, appearing in projects like "Forbidden," "Anna Karenina," "Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story," and "Jesus." She received a César Award nomination for her performance in Claude Chabrol's "The Ceremony" and earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the miniseries "Joan of Arc."

In recent years, Bisset has continued to work in film and television, appearing in projects like "Domino," "Nip/Tuck," "Death in Love," and "An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving." She won her first Golden Globe award for her performance in the BBC series "Dancing on the Edge" and has appeared in films like "Welcome to New York," "Miss You Already," and "The Last Film Festival."

Throughout her career, Bisset has been involved in long-term romantic relationships with several individuals, including Canadian actor Michael Sarrazin, Moroccan entrepreneur Victor Drai, Russian ballet dancer Alexander Godunov, Swiss actor Vincent Perez, and Turkish martial arts instructor Emin Boztepe. She has never married and continues to be active in the film industry, frequently participating in film festivals and award ceremonies around the world.
