Jacob Seth Lofland was born in the charming town of Briggsville, Arkansas, to Debra and Billy Lofland, a loving and supportive family that would later play a significant role in his journey to stardom.
His remarkable film career began with a pivotal role as Neckbone in the critically acclaimed movie Mud, released in 2012, where he shared the screen with renowned actors Matthew McConaughey and Tye Sheridan. Lofland's impressive performance caught the attention of director Jeff Nichols, who was looking for an actor who embodied the personality of Neck, and Lofland's real-life experiences with boating and cycling perfectly fit the bill.
Just a mere three weeks after discovering the open casting call in the newspaper, Lofland took his first plane ride to Austin, Texas, to audition for Jeff Nichols and producer Sarah Green. His audition was met with immense success, as he was offered the role within a staggering 24 hours, and within a month, he found himself working alongside a full-fledged movie crew on location.
