Personal Details

Biography

Jacob's cinematic journey began on a fateful evening when he was just 10 years old. His family had watched the movie "Overboard" starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, and as they piled into their station wagon to head home, Jacob's mother asked for his thoughts on the film. His response, "It was okay, but the cinematography was really grainy," was a defining moment that set him on the path to a life in the movie industry.

In college, Jacob discovered his passion for screenwriting at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona, but he soon found himself torn between pursuing a career in writing and directing. The pressures to secure a "real" job led him to take on various roles, including security, retail, collections, sales, and even taxi driving. However, his love for filmmaking remained strong, and he continued to work on his craft in his free time.

In 2011, Jacob teamed up with Brian Smith to write a screenplay for a feature film titled "Welcome To Deadsville" and founded Robot Vampire Productions, a production company that has since produced several short films, including "Lepus" and "Terrestrial," starring Bill Oberst Jr.

As Jacob continues to develop new projects, including short films and a web series, he is also working to turn "Lepus" into a feature film. In addition to his filmmaking endeavors, Jacob co-hosts three podcasts on Abnormal Entertainment: The Gorram Nerd Hour (with Brian Smith),From The Underground, and The Science Of Fiction.
