Biography

Noted character actor, renowned for his portrayal of rugged, tough-guy personas and intimidating heavies, hailed from Yonkers, New York. Initially, he made a name for himself on the Broadway stage before transitioning to become a ubiquitous figure in Westerns and crime dramas following World War II.

Although his face was almost as recognizable as that of his contemporaries Warren Oates, Robert J. Wilke, and Leo Gordon, for some inexplicable reason, Lambert never achieved the same level of widespread recognition, despite having amassed an impressive array of similar roles and film credits.

It's worth noting that his credits are often mistakenly attributed to the Scottish actor of the same name, Jack Lambert, which may have contributed to his relative anonymity despite his extensive body of work.
