Jack Bassam Barakat, a renowned musician, was born in Lebanon, but his family's tumultuous circumstances led them to flee to Baltimore, Maryland when he was just an infant. He is the youngest of three children to his parents, Joyce and Bassam Barakat, who also have two older siblings, May and Joe. As a result of his Lebanese heritage, Jack would often be affectionately referred to as the "Lebanese Prince."
Growing up in Baltimore, Jack formed strong bonds with his childhood friends, who would later become his bandmates. During his high school years, Jack and his friend Marc Shilling decided to take the leap and start a band. Jack's middle school acquaintance, Yanni Giannaros, joined them as the drummer, while Jack managed to convince his friend Alex Gaskarth to play guitar and sing with the group. With the addition of these talented individuals, the foursome, initially known as NeverReck, began to craft their own unique sound.
After a brief stint, Giannaros departed the band, and Rian Dawson took over as the drummer. Shilling was later replaced, and the remaining trio went through several temporary bassists before finally settling on Zack Merrick. It was during this period that the band decided to rebrand themselves as All Time Low.
By 2004, All Time Low had released their debut EP, The Three Words to Remember in Dealing With the End, and by 2005, they had released their first full-length album, The Party Scene. The band's popularity continued to soar, and in 2006, they signed with Hopeless Records. The following year, they released their second album, So Wrong, It's Right, and in 2009, they dropped Nothing Personal.
The success of these albums propelled All Time Low to the forefront of the music scene, with their concerts selling out rapidly. As the band's fame grew, Jack Barakat and his friends found themselves at the helm of a musical phenomenon, with their unique sound and energetic live performances captivating audiences worldwide.
