Jacen Tan is a renowned independent film director, widely regarded as one of Singapore's most promising and innovative young filmmakers. His remarkable journey in the industry began with the creation of his debut short film, Tak Giu (Kick Ball),which gained an unprecedented level of popularity, boasting over 100,000 views, a staggering feat considering the pre-YouTube era. This groundbreaking achievement not only showcased his exceptional storytelling abilities but also paved the way for his future endeavors.
Tan's subsequent projects further solidified his reputation as a master of local humor and slang, as evident in his "Zo" comedy trilogy: Zo Peng (Go Army),Zo Gang (Go Work),and Zo Hee (Make Movie). The trilogy was later compiled into a DVD titled Hosaywood (2011),which cemented his status as a rising star in the Singaporean film scene.
After dedicating seven years to his craft, Jacen Tan finally brought his passion for horror comedy and personal experiences from serving in the army to life with his first feature film, Zombiepura.
