Biography

J. Omar Castro, the youngest of three brothers, was born to Honduran immigrant parents in a New Orleans suburb. Growing up, he was drawn to storytelling through art, which would become a defining aspect of his life. Castro is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Rossier School and concurrently enrolled in the University of Southern California's School for Cinematic Arts.

Throughout his educational journey, Castro has accumulated an impressive array of credentials. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Management Business Administration degree from Tulane University, where he also honed his acting skills in a junior-year class. This serendipitous discovery reignited a long-dormant passion, prompting Castro to develop a sustainable plan to fuel his artistic pursuits.

After completing his undergraduate studies and serving seven years in the U.S. Air Force, Castro relocated to Austin, Texas, to further hone his craft in a Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Texas. His early success in securing a television role in a Navy Seals mini-series within months of his move prompted him to relocate to Los Angeles in 2001.

To refine his craft, Castro studied the Meisner Technique at Playhouse West in North Hollywood, crediting this experience with significantly enhancing his understanding of the craft and his exponential growth as an actor. Despite the demands of his busy schedule, Castro remains committed to continuous development, balancing film and television projects with a steadfast dedication to further refining his craft.
