Biography

J. Eric Bell is a native of Brooklyn, New York, and has made a significant impact in the film and television industry. He has appeared in a number of notable productions, including the 1974 film "Honey Baby, Honey Baby" alongside Diana Sands and Calvin Lockhart, playing the role of Skiggy Lewis. Bell also appeared in the 1974 Paramount Pictures film "The Education Of Sonny Carson" as Little Boy, alongside Paul Benjamin and Mary Alice, which was directed by Michael Campus.

In addition to his film work, Bell has also made appearances on television, including the 1975 ABC Television special "Ceremonies In Dark Old Men" as Bobby Parker, co-starring with Robert Hooks, Glynn Turman, Rosalind Cash, Douglas Turner Ward, and Godfrey Cambridge, and directed by Michael Schultz. He also had a recurring role on the PBS series "Scoops Place" as Jay.

On the stage, Bell has had a diverse range of roles, including Murray the Cop in "The Odd Couple" and Juror Number 2 in "Twelve Angry Men" at The Square One Theatre in Stratford, Connecticut. He has also appeared in the musical "1940 Radio Hour" as the Stage Manager at The Alguien Theatre in New Haven, and as Casio in "Othello" at the Lincoln Theatre, for which he received a recognition award for best supporting actor.

As a member of the prestigious Negro Ensemble Company, Bell has had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented actors and actresses in the industry. He has appeared in a number of productions, including "In The Deepest Part Of Sleep" as Reuben, and "Every Man Black" as Every Man at the Public Theatre in New York City.

Bell has also toured the U.S. in the production "Ceremonies In Dark Old Men", and has worked with a number of notable directors, including Woodie King, Jr. and Michael Schultz. He has studied with Susan Batson, The Negro Ensemble Company, and Long Island University, and is a member of both Sag-Aftra and Actors Equity Association.
