Ivy Martha Nicholson, born in New York City to working-class Irish Catholic parents, began her modeling career at the tender age of 16, rapidly gaining success by gracing the coveted covers of Vogue and Elle.
However, as the years passed and the industry's appetite for younger models grew, Ivy, now 30, sought to diversify her skills and ventured into acting, ultimately landing roles in Andy Warhol's Factory, where she appeared in minor parts within a handful of films and crossed paths with director John Palmer, who was working as a camera man at the Factory, and eventually married him.
Following her stint at the Factory, Ivy relocated to Paris in 1970, where she dedicated herself to her art, painting, and guiding the careers of her children, who would go on to make significant impacts in their respective fields.
Ivy is a proud mother of four, with her eldest son, Darius DePoleon, a viscount and musician in Paris, who is part of the band "Eurotrash" alongside other European royals.
Her second son, Sean Bolger, is a fashion photographer in Los Angeles, while her daughter, Penelope Palmer, a child actress, starred in the film Le Femme Enfant alongside Klaus Kinski.
Penelope's twin brother, Gunther Palmer, was a child model in Paris and is now a drummer and vocalist in the band Stagefright.
