Ivan Kokorin, a renowned Russian theater and film actor, was born in Moscow. He is best recognized for his captivating performances in films such as 9th Company (2005),Shik (2003),Brat 2 (2000),and Posledniy bronepoezd (2006).
As a 2000 graduate of the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio (MXAT),Ivan made his stage debut at the A. P. Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre in his fourth year. Simultaneously, he appeared on-screen for the first time in Aleksey Balabanov's cult classic Brat 2 (2000).
In 2003, Ivan starred as Nemo-one of the leads-in Shik (2003),directed by Bakhtyar Khudojnazarov, which won two awards at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
His breakthrough role came in 2005, when he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Private Chugainov in Fedor Bondarchuk's 9th Company (2005),a film that garnered numerous accolades.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ivan's filmography has exceeded 75 titles, including Bratya Karamazovy (2009),Dom Solntsa (2010),I'll Wait, Revelations, Fighters 2, The Last Frontier, Bender: The Final Hustle (2021),Restoran po ponyatiyam (2022),and The Recruited, among many others.
In addition to his screen work, Ivan is a featured reader ("artist-lecteur") at the Moscow State Academic Philharmonia.
Ivan has received numerous accolades, including being nominated for the Golden Mask theater award in 2018 for his role as Vandal in the Mayakovsky Theatre's production Exile / My Friend Freddie Mercury.
He was also nominated for the Poet of the Year "Debut" literary prize in 2022 and awarded Reader of the Year 2024 by FB magazine.
Furthermore, Ivan curates the author's acting course at Aleksei Mitta's film school.
