Ivan Herrera, a multifaceted creative force, was born in the vibrant city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As a director, producer, and screenwriter, he has consistently drawn inspiration from the world around him, often finding solace in the lens of his camera. Through his photography, he has developed a unique perspective on humanity, allowing him to interpret and share the stories that shape our existence.
Herrera's impressive portfolio includes his critically acclaimed short film, "La Pasión Original", which took home the prestigious Judge's Choice Award at the TIFxInstagram Shorts Festival in 2016. This notable achievement was only the beginning, as his feature film "Bantú Mama" made history by becoming the first Dominican film to be selected by the renowned SXSW festival.
Currently residing on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, Herrera has established a strong presence in the region through his production services company, Too Caribbean, and his film production company, Point Barre. These ventures have enabled him to continue pushing the boundaries of his craft, while also fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the local film industry.
