Biography

Isabella Calò, a talented individual, was born in the historic city of Mantua, but was forced to alter her family name, originally of Jewish descent, to Bellini due to the racial laws in place at the time. Her remarkable vocal abilities led her to win a national singing competition, ultimately securing her a spot at EIAR, where she flourished as a solo artist and as a member of the esteemed "Trio Primavera" alongside Thea Prandi and Wilma Mangini. During and immediately following World War II, Bellini dedicated herself exclusively to the world of theater, collaborating with renowned performers such as Totò, Renato Rascel, Walter Chiari, and Umberto Spadaro.

As the post-war era progressed, Bellini began to make a name for herself on the radio, taking on roles as both a presenter and entertainer. In 1948, she started her radio career, which would eventually lead her to co-host the popular show "Il motivo in maschera" alongside Mike Bongiorno and Lelio Luttazzi in 1954. Additionally, that same year marked Bellini's debut as a television presenter in the program "Italia. Nati per la musica". Over time, Bellini's appearances on media platforms gradually decreased, as she shifted her focus towards dubbing.
