Iram Haq, born in 1976, embarked on a creative journey by attending Westerdals School of Communication, where she honed her skills as an art director. Prior to her directorial pursuits, Haq made a name for herself as a multifaceted artist, taking on various roles in stage and screen productions.
Her early work in the film industry included acting in feature and television films, as well as writing and starring in the critically acclaimed short film, Old Faithful. This project garnered significant attention, as it was selected for the prestigious short film competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2004.
Following her success in the short film arena, Haq made her directorial debut with Little Miss Eyeflap, which premiered at the renowned Sundance Film Festival and went on to participate in numerous festivals, earning several accolades along the way.
Iram Haq's feature debut, I AMYOURS, made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013. This milestone marked a significant turning point in her career, as her film was subsequently chosen by Norway's Oscar selection committee as the country's official submission for the Best Foreign-Language Oscar.
Iram's directorial debut, I Am Yours (Jeg er Din),went on to win the top prize for best feature at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck, further solidifying her reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
