Ify Nwadiwe, a California native, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. Growing up, he had an innate love for comedy, inspired by his favorite TV shows MAD TV and SNL, as well as BET's Comic View and legendary comedians like Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and Chris Rock.
As a young comedian, Ify's passion for making people laugh was evident, often leaving teachers and authority figures frustrated but entertained. In his senior year of high school, he joined the ComedySportz High School league, where he honed his skills in short-form improv.
After graduating, Ify was invited to join the esteemed Cherry Spitz Comedy group, where he performed improv and created internet sketches for an impressive seven years. He then took his skills to the next level by enrolling in classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles in 2012, mastering the art of long-form improv in the Harold style.
Ify's continued pursuit of comedy led him to co-found an all-black comedy group called White Women, featuring many prominent black comedians from the UCB community. Currently, he is busy shooting pilots, short films, and commercials, while also performing improv at The Clubhouse with White Women and UCB.
Fans of Ify can also tune in to his podcast, Candy Dinner, where he and co-host Matt Apodaca discuss the world of comedy from a youthful perspective. With a string of impressive shows under his belt, including performances at The Comedy Store, The LA Scripted Comedy Festival, and Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, Ify's schedule is always filled with exciting opportunities.
