Biography

Iain De Caestecker is a Scottish actor who attended Hillhead Primary School and later completed a Higher National Diploma in Acting and Performance at Langside College.

He gained recognition for his leading roles in two BBC series, The Fades and Young James Herriot, both released in 2011. The latter earned him a nomination for Best Actor/Actress - Television at the BAFTA Scotland Awards.

In 2013, De Caestecker appeared in the psychological horror film In Fear, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to widespread critical acclaim. He also starred in the films Filth and Not Another Happy Ending that same year, earning his second BAFTA Scotland nomination for Best Actor/Actress - Film.

In addition to his film work, De Caestecker appeared in the music video for Gabrielle Aplin's song "Please Don't Say You Love Me".

In 2013, De Caestecker secured the role of Leopold Fitz on the television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which debuted the same year. He also landed the lead role in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, released in 2014.

In 2018, De Caestecker co-starred in the J.J. Abrams-produced science fiction war film Overlord.
