Tetsuya recruited Hyde, the guitarist from another band, in 1991 to form the iconic Japanese rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel. Since then, Hyde has taken on the role of main lyricist for the band, in addition to composing music for the group and his solo projects.
Hyde's solo music career began in 2001 with the release of several singles, including "evergreen", "angel's tale", and "shallow sleep". This was followed by the release of his debut solo album "roentgen", which featured lyrics in both Japanese and English.
The album "roentgen" was a departure from the mellow sounds of Hyde's earlier work, and he continued to explore different musical styles with the release of "666" in the following years. In 2005, Hyde launched his solo career with the album "faith", which was accompanied by a tour that even extended to the United States.
In addition to his solo work, Hyde has also pursued a career as a rock musician with the band VAMPS, which he formed with K.A.Z. in 2008. VAMPS has released a collection of singles and two albums to date, and has also embarked on tours in six countries, including a first-time visit to a Latin American country.
