Hunter Austin's fascination with the world of show business began in her childhood in San Diego, California, where she shared a passion for theater and classic movie musicals with her British mother. Her creative streak, inherited from her architect/civil engineer father, was evident in her love of drawing and writing. Even at a young age, Hunter discovered her joy in watching sitcoms and the televised Tony and Emmy Awards, inspiring her to one day become a part of the television screen.
In her kindergarten days, Hunter found solace in watching TV, and her parents transformed their garage into a rehearsal hall where she could hone her tap dancing skills, put on shows, and record her own voiceovers. Despite her shyness, Hunter made her stage debut at the tender age of six, modeling tennis wear in a fashion show.
Undeterred by her shyness, Hunter took matters into her own hands and studied a book titled "How To Put Your Kid In Showbiz." With newfound confidence, she called a talent agency and scheduled a meeting, impressing the agents with her wholesome look and impressive dialogue memorization skills. Her parents' unwavering support allowed her to commute to Los Angeles for auditions, where she landed roles in commercials for Wendy's, Nissan, Titleist Golf Balls, Opal Fruits, and AMC Movie Theaters.
Hunter's talent didn't go unnoticed, as she won roles in the musicals Yankee Doodle Boy and Bah Humbug. She continued to act, sing, and dance in large theatre productions, and was even featured in pilot presentations for the newly launched HBO network. Her parents' dedication to her craft was evident, as her father would often drive from San Diego to Los Angeles on weekends so that Hunter could perform in Danielle Brisebois' Cabaret For Kids.
As an adult, Hunter's career flourished, with appearances in numerous television productions, anime dubs, and video games.
