Biography

Hu Jintao's biography begins with his education at Beijing Technical University, where he specialized in hydraulic engineering and graduated in 1965. He then worked as a research assistant and political lecturer until 1968, when he began supervising projects in Gansu Province for the Ministry of Hydraulic Engineering and Electricity.

From 1974 to 1980, Hu held various leadership positions in Gansu Province, including secretary of the commission for investment construction and deputy head of planning and administration. He then became deputy chairman of the Investment Construction Commission in Gansu Province and later attended a training course at the Communist Party School in Beijing.

In 1982, Hu was elected as a Central Committee candidate and later became a member of the Central Committee's Standing Committee. He served as chairman of the Communist Youth Association and advocated for Deng Xiaoping's reform policies.

In 1985, Hu became the party leader in Guizhou Province and in 1988, he was sent to Tibet as Communist Party leader. He played a key role in stabilizing the political situation in Tibet and promoting economic development in the region.

In 1992, Hu was confirmed as a Central Committee member and was elected to the Politburo, its Standing Committee, and the Secretariat of the Central Committee. He also became the vice chairman of the Central Committee's organizing committee and the leadership of the Central Committee's party school.

In 1997, Hu took a trip around the world, where he presented himself as a future representative of the Chinese leadership. In 1998, he was appointed as deputy to President and Communist Party General Secretary Jiang Zemin.

In 2002, Hu became the new general secretary of the Communist Party and in 2003, he was elevated to the position of President of the People's Republic of China. He has since been the leader of China, overseeing significant economic growth and foreign policy initiatives.

Throughout his career, Hu has been known for his pragmatic approach to governance and his commitment to economic development and social stability. He has also been criticized for his role in suppressing human rights and political dissent in China.

In his personal life, Hu is married and has two children.
