Howard Rubie's illustrious cinematography career commenced in the 1950s at Kingcroft Studios in Sydney, Australia, where he initially held the role of a gopher. This early experience laid the foundation for his subsequent professional growth, as he joined Cinesound in 1953, assuming the position of camera assistant. His career trajectory continued to unfold as he transitioned to Ajax Studios, where he honed his skills as a cameraman and eventually, as a director. Throughout his tenure, Howard Rubie worked on a diverse range of projects, including television commercials, documentaries, and episodes of popular television series such as Boney, Search for Treasure Island, and numerous others. Notably, he received a nomination for an AFI award, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
