Howard J Ford is a renowned British filmmaker, with a prolific career spanning over three decades. With a total of eleven feature films and over three hundred TV commercials to his credit, he is one of the most successful independent filmmakers in the UK.
Ford's films have been distributed by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Sony Pictures, Paramount, Netflix, and Altitude Films. His recent feature film, the climbing thriller "The Ledge", received a wide theatrical release and was distributed by Paramount/Saban in the US and Signature/Netflix in the UK, reaching number 6 on the Netflix charts.
Ford began making short films at the age of thirteen and directed his first feature film at twenty-one. Since then, he has directed a range of successful films, including the worldwide genre hit "The Dead" and its sequel "The Dead 2".
In addition to his work in feature films, Ford has also had a successful career as a commercials director, working with top agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Lowe Lintas, McCann's, and DDB. He has created numerous award-winning campaigns for some of the largest global clients.
Ford's female-driven thriller "Never Let Go" was voted Best Independent Film of 2016 at The National Film Awards and was released by Sony Pictures across North America. It has also been a successful title on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and still plays on TV around the world.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ford continued to work, directing the feature film "The Lockdown Hauntings" with a stellar cast, including Tony Todd. The film was released in cinemas and online by UK distributor Altitude Films.
Ford has two films scheduled for release in 2024, including the female-driven survival thriller "Escape" and the gripping murder thriller "DarkGame", starring Ed Westwick. He is also set to release the savage thriller "River Of Blood" for Reinvent Studios, which reunites him with actor Joseph Millson.
Ford is currently attached to three further feature films in various stages of development, cementing his position as one of the most prolific and successful filmmakers in the UK.
