Howard Hu, a renowned American physician-scientist, internist, and expert in preventive medicine and environmental health, currently holds the esteemed position of Flora L. Thornton Chair and Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
Prior to his current appointment, Hu taught at several prestigious institutions, including the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, University of Michigan School of Public Health, and University of Toronto, where he played a pivotal role as the founding dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Hu has also been actively involved in humanitarian efforts, serving on the Board of Directors for Physicians for Human Rights, where he participated in four of the organization's fact-finding missions, utilizing his expertise to investigate and address human rights abuses and health crises around the world.
