Biography

Noted American actor, Henderson Forsythe, hailed from Macon, Missouri, and went on to build a distinguished career in film, stage, and television. His most iconic role was undoubtedly the 30-year tenure as "Dr. David Stewart" on the long-running American soap opera, As the World Turns, which premiered in 1956.

Throughout his illustrious career, Forsythe earned widespread recognition and acclaim. In 1979, he won a prestigious Tony Award for his outstanding performance in the original Broadway production of 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas'. This impressive achievement was later replicated when he took on the same role in London's West End.

Despite his success in various mediums, Forsythe's filmography remains relatively sparse, with only around 10 film appearances throughout his 25-year career. However, he devoted the majority of his time to stage and television work, cementing his reputation as a versatile and accomplished actor.
