Hend Sabry is a renowned Cairo-based Tunisian actress and lawyer, born in Tunis on November 20th. She graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law of Tunis in 2001, and later earned a master's degree in law, specializing in intellectual property and copyright, in 2004.
Sabry's acting career began at the tender age of fourteen in the Tunisian production "Les Silences du Palais" (Silence of Palaces) in 1994. She went on to star in numerous Tunisian productions, before making her breakthrough with the controversial film "Muzakirat Murahiqua" (A Teenager's Diary) in 2002. This role catapulted her to stardom across the Arab world, and she soon became one of the most prominent Tunisian actresses in Egypt and the Arab world.
Beyond her acting career, Sabry is deeply committed to social and humanitarian causes. Since 2009, she has been working closely with the UN World Food Programme to raise awareness about hunger in the region. Her tireless efforts earned her the title of WFP Regional Ambassador in 2010.
Additionally, Sabry is one of four women who have contributed to the Facebook campaign "The Uprising of Women in the Arab World", which promotes gender equality in accordance with the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This campaign calls for freedom, independence, and security for Arab women, and has become a powerful symbol of the Arab Spring movement.
