Biography

Hector Babenco, a renowned director and writer, embarked on his journey on February 7, 1946, in the picturesque coastal city of Mar del Plata, located in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Born into a world of creative expression, Babenco's talent would soon unfold, leaving an indelible mark on the film industry. His notable works include the critically acclaimed "Carandiru" (2003),the poignant "Pixote" (1980),and the romantic drama "Foolish Heart" (1998). Throughout his life, Babenco was blessed with three loving wives: Bárbara Paz, Xuxa Lopes, and Raquel Arnaud. Tragically, his life came to an abrupt end on July 13, 2016, in the vibrant city of São Paulo, located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
