Heather Langenkamp, a talented actress, began her acting journey in the early 1980s, landing small roles as an extra in Francis Ford Coppola's films The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, both shot on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although her scenes were ultimately cut from the final versions of these films, Langenkamp's early experience in the industry laid the groundwork for her future success.
After studying at Stanford University, Langenkamp rose to international fame when Wes Craven cast her as the iconic character Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street, released in 1984. Her portrayal of Nancy cemented her status as a horror movie star, and she reprised the role in the 1987 sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
Langenkamp's versatility as an actress was showcased in her subsequent television appearances, including a recurring role as the moralistic Marie Lubbock on the ABC series Just the Ten of Us, a spin-off of the popular sitcom Growing Pains. She guest-starred on Growing Pains in 1985 and appeared on Just the Ten of Us from 1988 to 1990.
In the 1990s, Langenkamp continued to take on a wide range of roles, including a fictionalized version of herself in New Nightmare and a portrayal of figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in the TV movie Tonya & Nancy: The Inside Story. She also appeared in the horror film The Demolitionist in 1995.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Langenkamp continued to work in film and television, serving as executive producer and narrator for the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy in 2010. She went on to appear in a variety of independent films, including The Butterfly Room, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Truth or Dare.
In addition to her acting career, Langenkamp is also a successful businesswoman, co-owning AFX Studio, a company responsible for special effects in films such as Dawn of the Dead and The Cabin in the Woods. She has been married to David LeRoy Anderson since 1990 and has two children with him. Prior to her marriage to Anderson, Langenkamp was married to musician Alan Pasqua.
