Heather Juergensen, a talented individual, was born and raised in the vibrant Brooklyn borough of New York City. Following her graduation from the esteemed Stuyvesant High School in 1987, she embarked on a journey of self-expression through writing and performing for the stage in both the bustling metropolis of New York and the City of Angels, Los Angeles.
During an acting and writing workshop sponsored by the esteemed Ensemble Studio Theater in New York, Heather had a serendipitous encounter with another actress-writer, Jennifer Westfeldt. This chance meeting led to a fruitful collaboration, as they began to write scenes that would later be produced off-Broadway under the moniker 'Lipschtick'.
One of the scenes they penned received a resounding response, which in turn inspired them to craft a film script centered around the blossoming romantic relationship between two straight women. This project, titled Kissing Jessica Stein, was initially developed by a studio but ultimately remained unproduced.
Undeterred, Heather and Jennifer took matters into their own hands, hosting script readings and selling shares to purchase the script rights and fund the film's production. The end result was the critically acclaimed film, Kissing Jessica Stein, which premiered in the year 2001.
Since the successful release of this project, Heather has had the privilege of contributing to various stage, film, and television properties, including a play that pays homage to her beloved hometown of Brooklyn.
