Heath Ledger, a talented actor, was born on April 4, 1979, in Perth, Western Australia. His parents, Sally Ramshaw and Kim Ledger, a mining engineer and a teacher of French, respectively, had Scottish, English, Irish, and Sephardi Jewish ancestry. Heath's early life was marked by his passion for drama, which he pursued in school.
After leaving school at 17, Heath and a friend embarked on a journey to Sydney, hoping to make it big in the acting world. With only 69 cents in his pocket, Heath faced numerous challenges before landing his first acting job in the low-budget film Blackrock (1997). He then appeared in several other films and television shows, including Sweat (1996),Home and Away (1988),and Paws (1997).
Heath's breakthrough role came in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You, followed by The Patriot (2000) and A Knight's Tale (2001). He continued to take on diverse roles, including Monster's Ball (2001),Ned Kelly (2003),and Lords of Dogtown (2005).
