Biography

Harvey Silver was born on April 12, 1976, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a young mother who made the difficult decision to put him in foster care at the age of five. This was the start of his journey, which would ultimately shape his life and career.

Growing up in 'Society Hill Philadelphia', Harvey found solace in acting classes, which he began taking during his teenage years. This not only helped him stay away from the streets but also allowed him to express himself in a creative and meaningful way.

As he honed his craft, Harvey became passionate about acting and was accepted into the prestigious "Society Hill Playhouse" through his High School Extra Credit Program. He made his professional debut with a screen test for a three-year contract on the now-defunct ABC Soap Opera "Loving".

After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, Harvey quickly got to work, landing his first Equity stage role in the play "American Medea" at the Mark Taper Forum, alongside Tony award-winning actress L. Scott Caldwell. He went on to star in several other productions, including the hit play "Salt on Sugar Hill" at the Mark Taper Forum.

Harvey's first professional television appearance was in a Coca Cola commercial directed by critically acclaimed film director John Singleton. His breakthrough performance came in 1995 with a lead role in the 20th Century Fox movie "The Price of Love", opposite Peter Facinelli and Laurel Holloman.

The film, which dealt with the sensitive topics of teen homelessness and prostitution in Hollywood, earned Harvey critical acclaim and exposure to showcase his acting abilities. He was then offered his own spin-off docu-film for 20th Century Fox, "Runaways", which focused on the issue of runaway teens.

Harvey's television credits include guest-starring roles on popular shows such as "New York Undercover", "The Watcher", "Beverly Hills 90210", "Beyond Belief", "Brooklyn South", "NYPD Blue", "First Monday", and "The Shield". He has also starred in his own sitcom, "One World", which aired from 1998 to 2001 and was ironically about foster kids.

In addition to his television work, Harvey has appeared in several feature films, including the cult comedy "Going Greek" alongside Oliver Hudson, "Last Resort" with Scott Caan, and "Steel" with Shaquille O'Neal. Harvey has set his sights on winning a Tony award for a dramatic or comedic role on Broadway, and is determined to make this goal a reality.
