Kinami Haruka, a talented Osaka native, began her journey in the entertainment industry after being picked to represent the Zenkoku Kotoogako Yakiu Senshuken Taikai school baseball tournament in 2001. She then won the New Star Horipro agency audition the same year.
After graduating from Takarazuka High School, Kinami went on to earn an Arts degree from Kokugakuin University of Tokyo, where she studied Chinese and English. She later studied Hangul for a role, showcasing her dedication to her craft.
Kinami's early career saw her as a member of the limited idol band Licca, celebrating the 35th anniversary of Licca-chan dress-up doll. The group released three singles and a full-length album between 2002 and 2003.
Her breakthrough in television came in 2004, when she appeared on the variety show Fuko No Housoku's reenactment segment, marking the beginning of her acting career. Kinami has since divided her career between movies and television serials, with the latter being her main area of activity.
Her first starring main role came with Kazoku Hakkei in 2012, followed by her lead role in the 2013 movie 100-Year Clock. Kinami also played the lead role in the Kiseki No Hito play, which ran from October 9 to 19th at The Galaxy Theatre.
As with many Japanese actresses, Kinami has appeared in multiple commercials and promoted various products. Her personal life has been subject to media attention, with her dating actor Matthew Ko in 2012 and 2013, and later bassist Ryota from One OK Rock in 2014.
Kinami is a fan of dancing, ballet, and maintains a boyish short hairdo.
